Garfield minus Garfield.

I love this. At one time, I was a big fan of Garfield. Pre-Calvin & Hobbes, it was my Sunday morning comic of choice. Sadly, at some point I outgrew the fat orange tabby, and most of America moved on as well - no more plush kitties suction-cupped to the back windshield of many a Datsun. As it turns out though, there may have been more to the ol' strip than everyone first realized...

"Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let's laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness in a quiet American suburb."

I know, right? It definitely gives the comics some gravitas.
